We look at a woman who is in an intense emotional state. We see that she is smiling, yet tears are visible in her eyes —
as if crying and joy are present at the same time. We may assume that something has happened that changed her life.
We can also assume that she experienced great relief, which is the source of her joy. Perhaps she has just met Jesus for
the first time and felt how He lifted the burdens of this world from her, cleansed her heart, and showed her the greatest love.
The painting is inspired by Matthew 11:28–30.

The dominant violet and purple color palette carries symbolism of transformation, healing, and spiritual maturity.
Light softly models the facial features, bringing out emotional subtlety and emphasizing fragility that is not weakness,
but a sign of release. The gesture of the hand near the eye may be read as wiping away a tear, but also as a symbol of
closing a certain chapter.

“Burden Lifted” is a painting about liberation, reconciliation with oneself, and grace that comes unexpectedly,
yet at the right moment. It is a story about how even the greatest burden can be taken away when we allow ourselves truth and trust.
